Antibes is organizing the contest for the most beautiful letter to Santa Claus

A somewhat special letterbox has taken up residence at Place Nationale, in Antibes. In its slot you can only slide letters to the North Pole, at Santa Claus! And the most beautiful missive will receive a surprise prize, offered by the Post Office and Father Christmas in person, on December 24 at 4 p.m.

Destination: “Santa Claus, path of the stars, North Pole”

For the moment, inside the big yellow mailbox : about fifteen letters. Large kraft envelopes, smaller ones, reds, green ones, others with glitter or star-shaped stickers … addresses that also make you dream: “Santa Claus, path to the stars” Where “rue des renes”.

In the middle of letters with childish writing, postcards. “There, these are errors, it is because the box looks too much like a real one from the Post office so people confuse”, Explain Olivier Michelis, event manager at Antibes town hall.

He agreed to open the famous box, and even a few letters, in preview for France Bleu Azur, but hush, not a word to santa claus ! “She is very beautiful this one”exclaims the one who improvises himself as a pixie by grabbing a rectangular envelope very well written.

Dear Santa Claus, this year I have been good, well not every day. “- Milo, 3 and a half years old

“Often it is the parents who write when the children are too small”, continues Olivier Michelis. And parents take the opportunity to complain – a little – about their blond heads: “Dear Santa, my name is Milo, I am 3 and a half years old and I have been good. Well, not every day, but I promise to do better next year.”

Write an original and selfless letter and not a list of toys

There are lists and gift lists. Some illustrated with pictures cut out from toy magazines, others more sober, but no selfless love words for Santa Claus. Yet this is what is expected: “you have to write an original and poetic letter, really sincere, to win the competition”.

You have until December 24 at 10 a.m. to drop off your letters, award ceremony at 4 p.m., Esplanade du Pré des Prêcheurs in Antibes.
