Anti-Semitic acts are exploding: 1,676 were recorded in 2023 compared to 436 in 2022. And the pace has accelerated since October 7 with a 1,000% increase in anti-Semitic acts.
The school environment is particularly concerned
Consequence: Jews are extra careful in hiding any sign of religious affiliation. According to Jewish institutions in France, 13% of these acts occur in schools, in college in particular, and the perpetrators are increasingly young. The government is committed to the greatest firmness. The perpetrators face 6 months in prison in the event of insults, and 5 years and a fine of 75,000 euros in the event of death threats.
