Aurore Bergé, Minister responsible for Equality between women and men, and the fight against discrimination was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Friday June 21, 2024. Anti-Semitism, legislative… She answered Jean’s questions -Rémi Baudot and Agathe Lambret.
Rise of anti-Semitism
Rebellious France has “obviously stirred up” anti-Semitism in France, according to Aurore Bergé. “We have candidates from La France insoumise who make absolutely unbearable comments about what is happening in the Middle East”she tackles. “The far left, by stoking fears, by stirring up hatred, has been an obvious stepping stone for the far right,” accuses Aurore Bergé, who will represent herself in the 10th constituency of Yvelines. “This is why the central block must be a bulwark against these two extremes”she says.
The delegate minister continued her charge against the New Popular Front, which she describes as a “New Nupes”even “a disastrous alliance”. “It’s always LFI who is in charge, it’s always LFI who has the biggest share of the pie, it’s always LFI who imposes its ideological views”, she castigates. The elected representative from Ile-de-France denounced the “small individual electoral calculations” leaders of left-wing parties. “Olivier Faure is just scared to say to himself ‘if I have an LFI candidate facing me, I’m not coming back to the National Assembly’, it’s not brilliant, it’s not glorious”snaps Aurore Bergé. “The history of the left is not limited to Jean-Luc Mélenchon”she adds.
🔴”[L’accélérateur de l’antisémitisme en France est] obviously, fanned, and it must unfortunately be noted, by LFI[…]What I see is that we have LFI candidates who make unbearable comments about what is happening in the Middle East,” says A. Bergé. pic.twitter.com/8VGTZU14Li

Dissolution: “a difficult decision”
Concerning the dissolution, “it’s a difficult decision, which has shocked many French people”. “The only subject is what majority the French want”, specifies the delegate minister.
“It’s up to us to rebuild it, it’s up to us to guarantee that there is a majority tomorrow, that’s the challenge”, according to Aurore Bergé. “Is this majority only with Renaissance, MoDem, Horizons, UDI, the radical party? Or does it go beyond? I hope we can go beyond that.”
🔴 Legislative elections ➡️ “I hope that [les Français] They will not want to give the keys to the extreme right or the extreme left in our country because they know the consequences that this could have on them,” announces Aurore Bergé. pic.twitter.com/26EsJIySqe

Changing sex in town hall: Emmanuel Macron “perhaps” was clumsy
The speech of the President of the Republic “shocked” associations defending the LGBT+ community who denounced “a political maneuver” to the character “transphobic”. Was Emmanuel Macron clumsy in calling“ubuesques” certain measures of the New Popular Front “like going to change sex at the town hall”? “Maybe”reacts the Minister Delegate responsible for Equality between women and men and the Fight against discrimination.
“What I see is that since 2017, there has been no ambiguity about the fact that we have always been on the side of the rights of people, particularly LGBT+ people”says Aurore Bergé. “We advanced the rights of LGBT+ people, we guaranteed the opening of PMA to all women, a measure to which Marine Le Pen opposed with her vote”, she argues.
Aurore Bergé recognizes that there is “deadlines that deserve to be shortened” in the current procedure, which requires that any request for change be made to a court.
