Anti-Semitic tags discovered in several towns in Ile-de-France

Anti-Semitic degradations which evoke the dark period of the Occupation. Dozens of tags representing Stars of David were found on the walls of several towns in Ile-de-France. After two communes of Seine-Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, Monday, and Aubervilliers, this weekend, these six-pointed stars were seen on the walls of the 14th arrondissement of Paris, Tuesday October 31.

On the networks, press releases from municipalities are pouring in. That of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine alerted, on X, on “the presence of Stars of David stencilled on the walls of the house of a resident of the Debain district“, while Karine Franclet, the UDI mayor of Aubervilliers, condemned Monday in a statementwith the greatest firmness these despicable acts”.

The Paris prosecutor’s office seized

“This act of marking recalls the processes of the 1930s and the Second World War, which led to the extermination of millions of Jews”denounced the town hall of the 14th arrondissement of Paris in a press release. “The prosecution is already seized”it is specified in the text.

The Paris prosecutor’s office has “been informed of the discovery of around sixty Stars of David tagged last night on walls in the 14th arrondissement”, according to information from franceinfo. The sector police station was informed of the investigation for damage to the property of others, aggravated by the circumstance of motivation linked to origin, race, ethnicity or religion. This offense is punishable by four years of imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros.
