In the song “No Pasaran,” about twenty rappers call for a vote against the far-right party. This song provokes division in the political class.
“No Pasaran” is the song in which 22 rappers from all generations call for opposition to the National Rally. Fianso takes the microphone first and sets the tone of the song against the party. Some rappers attack Jordan Bardella and Marine Le Pen with violent lyrics. These attacks were denounced by the National Rally on social media, but also by the presidential camp. “It’s pitiful, I’ve seen other comments, there are calls for rape, there are insulting remarks towards the RN candidates, it’s unspeakable.” Martin Garagnon of the Renaissance party is indignant.
While the song was criticized by the right and part of the center, the left received it better.“I think it’s healthy that rappers, singers or even athletes try to wake up the population with their words.” says Eric Coquerel. This opinion is shared by the NFP deputy of Hauts-de-Seine, Elsa Faucillon. Note that all funds generated by these wiretaps will be donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation.
