Three opponents of the basins were sentenced on Wednesday January 17 to suspended prison sentences of between six and twelve months for organizing banned demonstrations in Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres). The latter had been punctuated by violent clashes with the police.

Julien Le Guet, spokesperson for the Bassines non merci collective, was thus sentenced to twelve months in prison, in accordance with the prosecution’s requisitions, and banned from appearing in Sainte-Soline and Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon ( Deux-Sèvres) for three years.

Two members of the collective Les Soulèvements de la Terre, Joan Monga and Nicolas Garrigues, were sentenced to nine and six months in prison respectively, suspended. Six to twelve months suspended prison sentence was requested on November 28 against nine defendants.
