In 2017, Anthony Kavanagh suffered a pulmonary embolism in Noumea. His health problems required a lot of rest, so much so that the comedian retired for five years at his home in Montreal. Back in France for his last show Happy, the former candidate of Dancing with the Stars took the opportunity to discuss the changes that occurred in his life after this incident in the columns of the Parisian.
One of the first changes in his life, Anthony Kavanagh turned to new horizons by taking an interest in NLP. “During the last few years, I trained as a master and coach in NLP, neurolinguistic programming. It allows us, by using language and the five senses, to better manage our emotions. Because our brain often plays tricks on us. tours… Since my last show, I no longer want to simply make people laugh for the sake of making them laugh. And so, I introduce NLP into the sketches, but in a hidden way, to try to help people, to make them more happy. Often, spectators at the exit say to me: I needed to hear that. And it’s a gift” he explained.
Regarding the name of his show, it has a direct link with his health problems from a few years ago. Anthony Kavanagh then pointed out: “I talk about the recipes of happy people to be “Happy”. But this is not a conference. It’s a real comedian show, very cartoonish”. Besides, if the one who clashed with France Télévisions started NLP, it was mainly because of this big scare where he almost lost his life. He pursues: “I had a triple embolism and a pulmonary infarction in 2017 in Tahiti, the day before a show. I almost died. After that, I had to have a conversation with myself. sets new priorities and that I make good resolutions, such as devoting more time to my family, paying more attention to my health…“.
