Anthony Duclair moves from Sharks to Lightning

Quebecer Anthony Duclair will continue his season in Florida since the Tampa Bay Lightning acquired him from the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, on the eve of the National Hockey League trade deadline.

The California club, which also gave up a seventh-round selection in the 2025 draft, obtained prospect Jack Thompson and a third-round pick in return this year.

This season, Duclair scored 16 goals and totaled 27 points in 56 games. He scored twice and added two assists in his last game with the Sharks in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old left winger will be on his eighth team in 10 seasons in the NHL. He has scored 138 goals and amassed 288 points in 546 games since his debut with the New York Rangers in 2014-15.

The Lightning are in the thick of the fight for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
