Anthony Beauvillier is going to Chicago

The Vancouver Canucks have traded Quebec forward Anthony Beauvillier to the Chicago Blackhawks.

In exchange, the Canucks will receive a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Beauvillier has two goals and six assists in 22 games this season. He’s in the final year of a contract that pays him $4.15 million per season, roughly the amount the Hawks freed up Tuesday by terminating Corey Perry’s contract for “unacceptable conduct.”

Vancouver acquired Beauvillier from the New York Islanders in the captain Bo Horvat trade.

Beauvillier produced 11 goals and 28 points in 55 games over two seasons for the Canucks.

The Islanders drafted the Quebec athlete at 28e overall rank in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
