On October 30, 2021, Frédéric François performed once again on the stage of the Olympia in Paris, after being kept away from his audience because of the coronavirus pandemic. A show announcing a tour next year, to support his new album of duets with about fifteen guests, expected in January. During this concert, the VIPs answered the call (Michel Drucker, David Ban, Michèle Torr, Jean-Baptiste Guégan …) and his clan was there, starting with his faithful wife.
Frédéric François (71 years old) has already gone through half a century of marriage with Monique! “My wife, of Polish origin, child of a minor like me and from a family of twelve brothers and sisters, living in the same street as me. She was the first to encourage me when she saw me with my guitar composing my first music. She supported me, accompanied me in my career“, he says in the pages of France Sunday. Monique thus saw her husband string together successes (I love you Italian, My heart tells you I love you…) and concerts but also witnessed unleashed groupies! “It was not easy at the time to live with a singer with babes. She has been my pillar. Another woman would have left me a hundred times!“, does not fail to underline the singer.
With his wife, Frédéric François had four children: Victoria, Vincent, Gloria – who had been admitted to intensive care because of Covid-19 last spring – and Anthony. The couple also had the pain of losing twins. In the pages of We both, in 2020, the singer already evoked his solid marriage with Monique and declared then: “I’ve been crazy about my wife for fifty years. We make every passing moment important. (…) Our feelings have become stronger thanks to the children. We are pillars to support our family. They need to see us as role models.“
