Another teacher accused of sexual contact and luring

A professor at the Polyvalente Lavigne, in the Laurentians, will have to face justice for sexual crimes that he allegedly committed over a period of approximately 10 years on four alleged victims while he was in a position of authority.

Kevin Parent appeared last week at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse, where he faces a host of charges of sexual interference, incitement to sexual contact and luring.

The 32-year-old man was a secondary school social studies teacher at the Lavigne high school in Lachute, according to our information. He was also a basketball coach.

He was suspended by the school a few weeks before his first arrest last October. New charges were subsequently added against him.

It would have caused four victims in total. The teacher was also in a position of authority over them, some of whom were minors at the time of the events, reports the Sûreté du Québec.

The events would have taken place between the years 2012 and 2023 in Lachute, Saint-Jérôme and Laval.
