The resource center is above all a welcoming place that allows you to take another look at cancer and to offer specific support for well-being à la carte (sophrology, self-image, shiatsu, art therapy, reflexology, Health gym, Ki Danza, singing, Yoga, Qi-gong, Hypnosis, nutrition, etc.) with individual psychological support.
In 2019, 1,330 people came to the Resource Center in Reims
This support comes at a crucial moment of the essential cancer treatment and after it, to better support and become an actor of his health.
The reassuring and reassuring effect is essential for regaining one’s balance and optimizing one’s chances of recovery.
Since the beginning of 2021, the Resource Center has benefited from new, more user-friendly premises at 4 rue de la Ferme des Anglais in Reims (next to Carrefour Cernay).

A unique place to experience cancer differently
In the Grand Est region, in addition to Reims, two other Resource Centers are located in Saint-Avold and Charleville-Mézières.
The Reims Resource Center: from its origins to the present day
400,000 people are victims of cancer every year in France. The treatments tend to lower the mortality rate but they are often difficult to bear, the post-treatment period is sometimes distressing and many people live with a chronic form of the disease.
Why a Resource Center?
The Resource Center of Reims was born in May 2016 on the initiative of Doctor Antoine Demonceaux (current President) following a meeting in 2015 with Dr Jean Loup Mouysset, oncologist in Aix en Provence and founder of the first Resource Center. Since then, the concept of a reception and support center for people affected by cancer has gained ground.
a team of 40 volunteers providing both reception and wellness care
A recent study carried out over 5 years by Dr Mouysset on the Centers of Aix en Provence and Montélimar on 210 patients shows a certain benefit (increased rate of remission) of psychosocial support on the quality of life and on the beneficiary survival.
The accompaniment is done on a set of activities around the three fundamental pillars of health: nutrition, physical activity and management of our emotions. The Resource Center makes it possible, thanks to its volunteer professionals, to fulfill these conditions.

Funding and volunteer needs
The beneficiaries do not contribute to the Resource Center to have the possibility of participating in the activities. It is open to everyone, including caregivers. It is asked voluntarily a contribution to running costs according to the possibilities of each. Until today, the financial needs of the Reims Resource Center have been covered with difficulty by private contributions (foundations, private donors, commercial partners) and an internal creation activity of the Centre, “the little hands”, which sell their products.
To welcome, we need and expect caring volunteers
In 2022, the Reims Resource Center will cross a complicated period in terms of budget and appeals for donations from the general public, businesses and institutions.
