At eight and a half years old, Anny Duperey’s parents, Lucien and Ginette, professional photographers, died accidentally. It was November 6, 1955 in Sotteville-lès-Rouen, and they had been poisoned by carbon monoxide in their bathroom. At the time, Anny was taken in by her grandmother and aunt. She actually confided that she had attempted suicide at 13, after the death of her parents. And to explain: “We’re giving it a try, I know that it’s a fairly common thing for children like that who wonder if they have, with their parents no longer there, if they really have the right to stay there, if we couldn’t take the chance of joining them.”.

Fortunately, Anny Duperey did not succeed, “it failed”, she says. At 76 years old, the one who continues her career in 2023 between the theater (“My dear children”), the movie theater (“On the black paths“) and television (“Death of a Shepherd“), reassures that she has been better for a long time. “And then afterwards, we checked: it’s okay“, she said. Anny Duperey is the mother of two children, Gaël in 1982 and Sara in 1985, the fruit of her love affair with the actor Bernard Giraudeau, who died in 2010.
