Museologist and manager Anne Eschapasse will be the new president and CEO of the McCord Stewart Museum starting April 17.
Mme Eschapasse has more than 20 years of experience in renowned museum institutions, here and abroad, having notably been Deputy Director General of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) and the National Gallery of Canada.
His predecessor, Suzanne Sauvage, retired last year after 12 years at the helm of the museum.
Anne Eschapasse is committed, among other things, to continuing the dialogue with the Aboriginal communities and to continuing to share the history of Montreal. It will also be responsible for reactivating the project for a new museum.
Born in Paris to a Canadian mother and a French father, she studied private law, specializing in intellectual and artistic property, before going to work in New York, where she eventually obtained a teaching diploma. superior in museology.
