“She has interest,” Éric Duhaime told our Parliamentary Office. However, no decision has yet been made.

Ms. Casabonne, who is in Quebec this weekend, will attend the annual general meeting of the party association in Charlesbourg. The event will take place on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Dooly’s, boulevard Henri-Bourassa.

According to our information, she would be expected there on a firm footing. Members believe that the Montrealer would be a candidate parachuted into this riding, which displeases some.

After Marie-Victorin

Anne Casabonne was recently a candidate for the Conservatives in the by-election in the riding of Marie-Victorin.

She finished fourth, winning nearly 10.4% of the vote, even ahead of the Liberal candidate.

Following her defeat, Ms. Casabonne had indicated that she would be a candidate in a riding this fall during the general election.

This was a surprise, especially since the Conservatives had won only 0.7% in this riding in the past.

The riding of Charlesbourg is represented by the CAQ Minister of Natural Resources, Jonatan Julien. He won it in 2018 with 48% of the votes.

The former municipal councilor should stand for re-election on October 3.
