(London) Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray has returned to training on the tennis courts after receiving confirmation that he will not need surgery to treat his ankle injury.
The 36-year-old tore ligaments in his left ankle during a match at the Miami tournament last month.
Murray’s team said this week that he “no longer needs an orthopedic boot,” does not need surgery and hopes to “hit balls soon.”
A short video posted to Murray’s Instagram account on Friday showed the former world number 1 performing shots on an indoor court.
No timetable has been announced for his return.
A two-time Wimbledon champion, Murray said he was unlikely to play after this summer and hoped to represent Britain at the Paris Olympics.
