Two teenagers, 16 and 17, were shot and wounded Thursday evening in the Anjou borough of Montreal. The 16-year-old is in critical condition.
A call was made to 911 at around 7.15 p.m. to report gunshots heard on Boulevard des Roseraies, near Avenue de la Nantaise. Upon arriving at the scene, the police spotted the 16-year-old in a car in Cointerel Square, shot in the upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. The identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed.
At the scene, police found cartridge cases on the ground, as well as bullet holes on the car. “I heard four knocks,” says Enzo, who lives right in front of the stage. Today I was telling my wife that I wanted to move out of the area. We had this and there my decision is made. ”

We are trying to find out where it comes from. We know that in the area, several people have been shot recently.

The City of Montreal “should do more to secure citizens who have nothing to do with this kind of act,” he adds.
A second victim
Near there, on Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou, the police found another victim, a 17-year-old teenager with “superficially upper body”, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Police Department. of the City of Montreal (SPVM). He was taken to hospital, but there is no fear for his life.
There have been no arrests yet and it is not known whether the two teenagers are known to the police. A security perimeter has been established on Place Cointerel and on Boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou. Investigators are currently on the scene to understand the circumstances surrounding the event.
This event occurs when Thomas Trudel, aged 16, was shot dead on November 14 in the Saint-Michel area. Less than a month earlier, a 16 year old teenager, Jannai Dopwell-Bailey, was assassinated in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. In February, Meriem Boundaoui, 15, was shot dead in the Saint-Léonard area.
