“Angry to the point of beating”: Murder of Justine Vayrac, the excesses of anger of Lucas L. revealed by a friend

What is the real personality of Lucas L., the 21-year-old young man who confessed to investigators that he raped, killed and buried Justine Vayrac on the night of Saturday October 22 to Sunday October 23, 2022? After his confession, many relatives said they were shocked by such a turnaround, they who thought they knew Lucas. In a report by seven to eight broadcast this Sunday, October 30 and devoted to the case, Jean-Marie, Lucas’ former internship supervisor, describes a studious and determined boy: “ÇTo my great surprise, he’s a kid I knew during an internship, a very good kid who only wanted to work, no worries! I never had a problem with him. I’m shocked because I would never have believed that from him.”

Another testimony nevertheless came to bring a slightly less brilliant aspect to Lucas: violence. Contacted by the editorial staff of seven to eighta friend of Lucas L. revealed the “explosive temper” from the main suspect in the case. A football fan, he had been playing for years in the club of Beynat, the city where he lives and beware of those against whom his team lost: “He is someone who finds it difficult to manage his emotions when he is told no. When he plays football when he loses a match, he can get angry until he beat up players from the opposing team.”

In August 2020, he is accused of setting fire to one of the sheds belonging to his boss at the time after he accused him of “spend too much time on your phone” during working hours. After being placed in police custody and 4 months in pre-trial detention, Lucas L. was to be tried in the coming months for these facts which he has always disputed.

Since Thursday, October 27, Lucas L. has been indicted for “rape, forcible confinement and murder” and placed in pre-trial detention after confessing. The precise course of the evening and the circumstances of the transition to age have yet to be determined due to the multiple testimonies collected by the investigators. The autopsy will notably make it possible to know whether Justine was drugged in the nightclub, as she had suspected during the evening.

Lucas L. remains presumed innocent of the charges against him until the case is finally closed.
