Angoulême Francophone Film Festival | Noémie says yes doubly rewarded

The film Noémie says yes by Geneviève Albert received the Valois prize for Francophone students as well as a special mention from the jury for Kelly Depeault’s “exceptional performance” at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival (FFA).

The Quebec feature film released last spring thus distinguished itself twice during the prestigious celebration of French-language film, including the 15e edition ended on Sunday.

Noémie says yes tells the story of a 15-year-old girl (Kelly Depeault) running away from a youth centre. The meeting with a manipulative pimp with whom she falls in love leads her to prostitution.

The Sixth Childthe first film by Frenchman Léopold Legrand, was the most awarded film of this anniversary edition of the FFA (including the Valois screenplay prize).
