The Angoulême festival highlights French films. For the 15th editing, Andre Dussolierthe president, and his jurors, must decide between ten French-speaking films in competition. The climate is always warm and far from the glitz of Cannes.
The Francophone Film Festival of Angoulême (Charente) attracts spectators. The queues are very long in front of the halls. Everyone has a good reason to come. “The magic of the big screen, being in a community“, evokes a woman. “Jean-Paul Rouve is my favorite actor, with Dany Boon“says a little boy. Jean-Paul Rouve is precisely present for the promotion of the film The Cadorsthen he signs the autographs that are asked of him. The Angoulême festival is more popular than glamour.
In a room, the young director Léopold Legrand came to present his first feature film The Sixth Child. He was entitled to a standing ovation. “I hope, in the future, to be able to continue making films for the cinema, particularly because it’s a bit of a cliché to say that, but the shared emotion is something other than receiving a film all alone in front of his screen“, he testifies. Of the “children of paradise“broadcast in the open air to young talents in competition, the festival from Angouleme makes the public vibrate with French-speaking cinema.
