If Auxerre validated its return to Ligue 1, Friday May 10, the 37th day of Ligue 2 delivered overall more indications for the rise, the play-offs and relegation, than certainties. To be confirmed on the final day, Friday May 17.
Angers advantage for the climb
Loïs Diony’s fifteenth goal, scored in the last minute in Annecy (2-1), puts Angers in orbit for the direct climb. Because at the same time, Saint-Etienne shared the points with Rodez in the last ten minutes (1-1). A double turnaround which places the Angevins in pole position to accompany Auxerre in Ligue 1. With two points ahead of the Greens, who will end the season in Quevilly, Friday May 17, Alexandre Dujeux’s players are masters of their destiny before their last match of the season, at home against Dunkirk.
Paris FC well placed to play in the play-offs
There are three for two places. Paris FC has taken the advantage in the fight for the play-offs. Victorious over Guingamp (2-1), the Parisians took fourth place with a three-point lead and a slightly favorable goal difference compared to Caen (6th). The Normans only took one point at Dunkirk (2-2) but remain hopeful because fifth place, occupied by Rodez after their draw at Geoffroy-Guichard (1-1), is only two points away.
A reprieve for Troyes
By winning in Laval (2-1), the Trojans did what was necessary on the field. Dunkirk and Annecy are five points ahead but remain under threat, in theory, because Estac hopes to replay its match against Valenciennes, stopped last Friday. It is therefore a very relative reprieve for the club which belongs to the City Group. This is the last uncertainty at the bottom of the ranking where Valenciennes, Quevilly and Concarneau were already condemned to the National.
