Anger of farmers: a speech from the Prime Minister expected – (France 2)
The Prime Minister’s new speech is expected by the mobilized farmers on Thursday, February 1. Will Gabriel Attal’s new announcements be enough to remove the barriers? Report in the Rhône and Charente.
At lunchtime, their eyes glued to a screen, the mobilized farmers are following with interest the new speech by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, scheduled for Thursday February 1. On the fourth day, the mobilization continues. On a dam north of Lyon (Rhône), farmers always alternate between their farms and their presence on the dam. It seems very difficult to get out of the rut. For these farmers, the negotiations must even take place beyond France.
Differences between unions
In Charente, around ten members of the Peasant Confederation blocked a Leclerc purchasing center early Thursday morning to demand better pay. They denounce fundamental differences with other unions which do not have the same vision of agriculture, targeting FNSEA. With numerous demands and differences between the unions, will the government’s new announcements be enough to remove the roadblocks? The farmers will decide together in the afternoon.
