A documentary about art? It’s coming soon, in France. In America, on the other hand, the public can already discover Paper And Glue: A JR Project, the film that JR offers to evoke a little more his graphic works, with many details. And to present this new film project, the director and street artist was entitled to the presence of very prestigious celebrities since Angelina Jolie, in particular, had made the trip to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles on November 18, 2021.
As usual, Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet with some of her children. Recently seen in full promotion of the film The Eternals, by Chloe Zhao, this time she was accompanied by his daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 15, and his son Pax Thien, 17 years. But why was the American actress there to support the French artist? Simply because they are friends since he photographed her during a trip to France in August 2021.
The documentary Paper And Glue: A JR Project is centered on the plastic work of the Parisian director. Using five unexpected canvases, the artist’s intention is to give ordinary people a global voice through a genre combination of public art, photography and large-format performance. He is known for printing gigantic photographs, in black and white, and affixing them to the surroundings of the monuments of Paris, in particular the Eiffel Tower or the Louvres pyramid. He also worked, with Agnès Varda, on Faces Villages. Were also present to applaud him and his team at the preview: Sara Bernstein, Ameta Spain, Marc Azoulay, Mia Maestro, Sofia Boutella, Lawrence Bender, Lil Buck, Jeff Soboroff and Dallas Rexer.
