Marilyn Monroe, iconic Hollywood actress, was immortalized two years after her death in a famous painting by Andy Warhol. This portrait will be auctioned on Monday, May 9, in New York (United States) and its price could soar. “However, Andy Warhol painted and made portraits of other superstars, other sacred monsters of Hollywood, like Liza Minnelli, Liz Taylor. But the icon of Marilyn Monroe surpasses all the others”explains journalist Loïc de La Mornais, special envoy to Washington (United States), Sunday, May 8.
The famous painting will be sold by Christie’s auction house. He “could reach heights according to estimates, nearly 200 million dollars, which would make it the work of art of the 20th most expensive century, ahead of a previous record by Picasso”explains the journalist Loïc de la Mornais.
