Andreas Leknessund wins the Arctic Race | The Press

(Oslo) The Norwegian Andreas Leknessund won the Arctic Race of Norway, the most northern race in the world, on Sunday, thanks to his victory on his land during the fourth stage, in Trondheim.

Posted at 1:56 p.m.

One hundred kilometers from the finish, Leknessund (DSM), 23, escaped with Frenchman Fabien Grellier (TotalEnergies) and Italian Alessandro Verre (Arkea).

The local star then distanced them about thirty kilometers from the finish, which he crossed alone in front of the Italian Nicola Conci (Alpecin) and the French Axel Zingle (Cofidis).

It is the first Norwegian victory in the Arctic Race since Thor Hushovd in 2013.
