And Diam’s
made the heyday of French rap, long before Ninho, Jul, or even SCH reclaimed the throne. Between Born under, The same bloodor Nothing to waterthe titles in which they have collaborated are numerous.
Guest on the show HU2STV, the artist, now 43 years old, looked back on the beginnings of his relationship with Vitaa’s sidekick. It was in high school that they first met.

Beginnings in high school
“She was in a high school where at the time, I sold a little weed at one time and I hung out there a lot actually. I was there and I had a friend who went to school in this school”he first remembered before adding: “And in fact, she had a head start because she was part of the Mafia Trece collective. So I already knew that she rapped. I knew that it was her even if at the start, I only knew his voice”.
In the end, the artist Grodash would have allowed them to meet when he passed “Cassette tapes” of Sinik has Diam’s : “she got to know my sounds and as soon as she had a little radio, a little mixtape, and she didn’t want to go alone or she wanted to get some hype, well I was the first one she called”.
After several years of collaboration, their “connection” finally came to an end. A break that occurred when Sinik And Diam’s
were planning to release a joint album. Album which ultimately never saw the light of day.
The end of the “story” between Sinik and Diam’s
“It’s something that I haven’t digested very well, let’s say. It’s the first break, I think, because what I say in the book is that… this project we’re leaving had been talking about since my very early years with her. It was an old dream. I was in prison, she was talking to me about it etc… And the problem is that at the time we launch it, she has released two monstrous albums . And I have the impression that in fact we are a few years late and that she doesn’t want this project.”he detailed.
The 43-year-old artist assures that the fact that this project does not see the light of day comes from the refusal on the part of the camp of Diam’s. “We were hot, we had fulfilled our part of the contract, we went to the studio… and there we saw the bad side of Mélanie”he regretted.
Sinik indicates that Vitaa’s sidekick even sent his manager: “he came to the studio and basically said ‘yeah, I don’t want the album to come out’. And in fact over time, I understood that they fought to break his image as a suburbanite, as a city girl. There had been a musical and clothing makeover. She had passed into another world. She no longer wanted that life.” For him, Diam’s no longer wanted to rap with “a guy who talked about shit, fights, dirty money”. “She, she was in something, she had backup singers on stage and everything. I think her team didn’t want this flashback”he concluded, rather understanding of the situation.
