The sex scenes in the series are recurring, but when they are too much, they bother the viewers as much as the actors. Proof is, Cathy Andrieu has just passed a rant at the omnipresence of sex in “The Mysteries of Love” after his character in the series is again in trouple, or in a three-way relationship.
“Purely Sexual Stories”
“I didn’t want this new trouple. I wanted there to be other stories. (…) Going back to purely sexual stories, personally I don’t want to. I think there were other things to say. But afterwards, I don’t have the finality. I don’t know where it’s going to take us”she told All TV during his interview published on June 18, the day of the broadcast of a new unreleased episode on TMC.
A subject she had already discussed with director Jean-Luc Azoulay who “leaves in his delirium”. “He has the vision of the whole, which we don’t have as actors. It’s always interesting to defend things, which are very far from my own personality”she then explained.
She’s not the first to complain. When she left the series in 2020, Magali Semetys, alias captain Marie Dumont, had made the same observation. “A large part of the scenarios revolves around sexual stories in all possible and imaginable forms”she said.
Among the actresses of the series, Carole Dechantre is currently leading a completely different fight, that against cancer, which she has already overcome four times. “Cancer finally removed! Even though I am now ‘used’ to have tumors operated on regularly, each operation is an ordeal, especially on the face”, she had told last year on Instagram. Before adding: “I often postponed this operation, it scared me so much… If I hadn’t dragged it out so much, the cancerous cells would have spread less, I know that”.
