“Anatomy of a Fall” crowned best foreign film at the Critics Choice Awards in Hollywood

The film “Anatomy of a Fall” by Justine Triet received the award for best foreign film, while “Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan was awarded eight statuettes at the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The biopic Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan, continued its harvest of international awards on Sunday January 14 by winning eight awards at the Critics Choice Awards. The film by French director Justine Triet Anatomy of a fall won best foreign film. The Critics Choice Awards are presented in Los Angeles by a college of approximately 600 members of the largest American film critics’ organizations.

The feature film about the father of the atomic bomb continued its race towards the Oscars: awards for best film, best director for Nolan, best supporting role for Robert Downey Jr., in addition to best cinematography, best music, best editing, best visual effects and best cast. Collecting his award, Christopher Nolan thanked critics for “helped convince mainstream audiences that a film about quantum physics and the apocalypse could be worth seeing“.

The French film Anatomy of a fall by Justine Triet confirmed its international success after the Golden Globes at the beginning of January by receiving the award for best film in a foreign language. The Critics Choice Awards also honored Emma Stone, elected best actress for her role as Bella in the black comedy Poor creatures after the Golden Globes. Same thing for Paul Giamatti among the actors, in Winter Break. He will notably be opposed for the Oscar to Cillian Murphy, who plays J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s film.
