(Anaheim) Anaheim Ducks forward Alex Killorn will be out four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
The Ducks announced the news on Saturday, before their duel against the San Jose Sharks.
Killorn played in the Ducks’ last game Tuesday in Washington. The team did not announce when he was injured.
Killorn joined the Ducks in the off-season after 11 years with the Tampa Bay Lightning, with whom he won the Stanley Cup twice. The 34-year-old veteran missed the first 10 games of this season with a broken finger.
Killorn had six goals and 13 assists in 34 games with the Ducks, who signed him to a four-year contract worth US$25 million.
Killorn has 11 points in his last 15 games after a slow start with his new team. He is the latest key Ducks player to suffer an injury.
Forward Trevor Zegras (ankle) and defenseman Pavel Mintyukov (shoulder) are expected to be sidelined until at least the end of February. Leo Carlsson, the second overall pick in the most recent NHL draft, returned to action Monday after suffering a sprained knee.
Forwards Max Jones and Brett Leason as well as defenseman Radko Gudas have also missed games recently.
