Anaheim Ducks | Alex Killorn out for four to six weeks

(Anaheim) Forward Alex Killorn, recently acquired by the Anaheim Ducks, will be out for a period of four to six weeks due to a broken finger.

Ducks officials announced the news on Saturday.

Killorn was injured Wednesday night during a preseason game against the San Jose Sharks.

He signed a four-year, $25 million deal with the Ducks last July after spending the previous 11 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Aged 34, Killorn won the Stanley Cup on two occasions with the Florida team, and amassed 198 goals.

The Ducks signed him to a contract to bring his winning past to the California team, which has missed the playoffs the last five seasons, a franchise record.

The injury represents another blow to the Ducks, who are mired in contract disputes with forward Trevor Zegras and defenseman Jamie Drysdale.

Both players are out of training camp while general manager Pat Verbeek conducts negotiations.
