The memory of Louis de Funès must not disappear from the cellar. This is the message of an association worried about the sale of the park and the wood around the castle of Clermont, the former home of the actor. A 17th century castle in which Louis de Funès lived for 16 years with his second wife, until his death in 1983. It was then bought, twenty years later, by a promoter who divided it into apartments.
We have already lost the museum of Louis de Funès at the castle. It would be a shame to lose more wood.
The association In the footsteps of Louis de Funès has launched an online petition to ask the mayor of Le Cellier to pre-empt this land of about thirty hectares around the castle of Clermont.
“We don’t want to see concrete, we don’t want to see the destruction of this forest, that the wood is razed or that it is forbidden to the public. That’s what scares us”underlines Aloïs Robinard, president of the association In the footsteps of Louis de Funès. We have already lost the museum of Louis de Funès at the castle. It would be a shame to lose the wood as well.”
Contacted by the editorial staff of France Bleu Loire Océan, the municipality of Le Cellier did not wish to comment on this file.
