A kitty has been launched on the internet to help the owner of a stable in Barbières, in the Drôme. The fodder storage building caught fire this Sunday, June 5. It may not be accidental, expertise is in progress. The manager, Agathe Vallance, wants to move forward and counts on the spirit of solidarity.
Agathe Vallance is still upset by what she has experienced. Sunday, while she is at a family meal, she is warned of the fire in her stable. “I never leaveshe said, annoyed. My friend, who also lives on the farm, took care of the animals. She saw the fire start in the framework of the fodder building. She tried everything but the fire got too big.”
Firefighters prevented the spread to nearby homes. The six horses, outside in this season, are safe and sound. “I try to tell myself that it’s only material but it’s a big part of my project that flies away”, she says. She, who worked for a group of poultry farmers, fought to find land and make a network. “It’s another step. At first I thought it would be unbearable, but today I see people who believe in me”she adds.
Agathe has received fodder donations, whose stocks this year are low due to the drought. She also hopes to be able to work thanks to the people who come for horse or pony rides or who come to buy her eggs. Finally, to help her financially, a friend set up a leetchi kitty.
