This complaint was filed by the head of the legal department of the rectorate, after he and the members of his department received numerous death threats in their mailboxes and on social networks, a source close to the matter told franceinfo. According to this source, around ten emails perceived as threatening were received by members of this service. Some evoke the “guillotine” or are calls for suicide.
The 15-year-old teenager, victim of harassment during the previous school year, committed suicide on September 5 at his home in Poissy. In a letter sent to his parents a few months before the teenager’s suicide, the legal department of the rectorate described it as “unacceptable“the words of parents who would have”challenged” the attitude of school staff. The tone of these missives provoked strong reactions from the government. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne described it as “shocking” and Gabriel Attal as “shameful”.
Before the rectors gathered exceptionally this Monday afternoon, the Minister of National Education Gabriel Attal requested a “electroshock at all levels” in the fight against school bullying.
