Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, professional gynecologist, newly appointed Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships is the subject of two complaints of rape, franceinfo learned on Wednesday June 22 from the Paris prosecutor’s office. According to information from franceinfo, the two complainants denounce gynecological rapes, that is to say penetrations carried out without their consent during a medical examination.

A first complaint was filed on May 25 for acts of rape in the context of his duties as a gynecologist and was the subject of an investigation two days later. The investigations were entrusted to the BRDP. They will aim to determine whether the facts are likely to fall within the scope of a criminal qualification. The Paris prosecutor’s office received a second complaint denouncing facts of the same nature on June 16. Asked by franceinfo, Matignon does not comment.

Former LREM MEP, Chrysoula Zacharopoulou had notably brought a plan to fight endometriosis to Emmanuel Macron last January, before being appointed to the government. She exercised her duties as a doctor at the Trousseau hospital and at the Tenon hospital, in Paris, under the direction of Professor Emile Daraï, himself the subject of a judicial investigation, accused of rape and gynecological violence by 25 patients.
