The Lorient public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for “intentional homicide” after the discovery of the body of a young woman, Saturday, May 27, in a river in Lanester, AFP learned on Sunday from the public prosecutor, confirming a log information West France. The body of the victim was discovered by walkers on Saturday morning in the waters of Blavet (Morbihan).
The victim could be identified. This is a woman born in 1999 and originally from the country of Lorient, who was “completely unknown, until then, to the justice services in any capacity whatsoever”said the prosecutor of Lorient, Stéphane Kellenberger, to AFP. “The investigations are actively underway and entrusted to the departmental security of the central police station of Lorient with the support of the forensic identification services”, detailed the magistrate. They aim to “shed light on the circumstances of this death, in particular by carrying out a forensic autopsy”he added.
The prosecution plans to communicate after the autopsy scheduled for Tuesday. “Any other element would, at this stage, be likely to harm the ongoing investigations,” concluded Stéphane Kellenberger.
