An investigation opened after the death of three dogs during the French Canicross championship

An investigation was opened after the suspicious death of three dogs during the French Canicross championship, a pedestrian race with dogs, in Vauvert (Gard), the Nîmes prosecutor’s office announced to AFP on Sunday March 12.

The investigation was opened for “act of cruelty to animals, for which two years’ imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros are incurred”, explained the public prosecutor, Cécile Gensac.
