An investigation opened after the death of a worker on a Futuroscope site

An investigation has been opened for manslaughter, after the fatal fall of a worker on one of the construction sites of Futuroscope, a famous amusement park located near Poitiers (Vienna), the prosecution announced on Wednesday April 17. The accident occurred on Monday “on the construction site of the Mission attraction Bermuda. The victim fell from a great height onto a construction site hatch.the prosecution told an AFP correspondent.

The investigation, blatantly opened for involuntary manslaughter in the context of work, was entrusted to the gendarmerie, added the same source, specifying that the Labor Inspectorate had gone to the scene of the accident. “The main line of investigation will focus on determining the working conditions of the victim and more generally the securing of the trap”, added the prosecution. According to the daily Press Centerthe worker was a young man in his twenties.

Asked by AFP, the management of Futuroscope announced that the amusement park teams were “shocked”. She adds to be “fully mobilized alongside the authorities to shed light on the circumstances of this dramatic accident”.
