An investigation was opened after the complaint of a company manager of Chinese origin who denounced in particular violence committed by police officers during an intervention, the Paris prosecutor’s office informed AFP on Monday January 29. Opened by the press and public liberties section of the Paris prosecutor’s office, it was entrusted on Wednesday to the General Inspectorate of the National Police.

The investigations focus “on acts of violence by a person holding public authority leading to two days of incapacity for work, denounced by the complainant”said the prosecution. “The investigation will have to determine whether the police were not called on the basis of an imaginary crime because we do not understand why the police intervene in this way in the context of a simple commercial dispute”reacted to AFP Yassine Bouzrou, lawyer for the plaintiff.

The complainant evokes a “violent arm lock”

In a complaint, consulted by AFP, the manager denounced acts of aggravated willful violence, attack on individual freedoms and discrimination by a person holding public authority. According to her account, on January 22, four police officers showed up at her company as part of a commercial dispute with the manager of another company to which she sublet its premises.

She claims that the four police officers informed her “that she would not have the right to be on the premises of her company and that she would be ‘undocumented'”. She also claims that one of them “indicated to her that she ‘could go back to her country’ if she was not satisfied with being here”. According to the complaint, she was then “violently seized by the arm” by a police officer, who allegedly made him “a violent arm lock” in “positioning her on her knees on the ground” against a sofa.
