The prosecutor of Argentan (Orne) Florence Sroda opened an investigation for “voluntary violence” while three people were hospitalized after an evening in a nightclub in Flers, reports France Bleu Normandie. A tweet posted on Sunday morning evokes hospitalizations of customers drugged with GHB, hence the opening of this investigation.
“As in all night establishments, there are customers who are refused entry and we can have disputes with some, but posting such accusations is gratuitous, dishonest, we are waiting for proof”, reacted the owners of the establishment, quoted by France Bleu Normandie. They assure that“no customer felt bad”and “no one arrived alone, and all left as a group”.
An awareness campaign launched on February 15
Analyzes are in progress “but it takes longer than for traditional analyzes such as blood alcohol”, indicates the prosecutor to France Bleu Normandie. While waiting for the results, the bosses of the “Why not” will reinforce the instructions for caution in their establishment and equip the glasses with caps.

On February 15, the government launched an awareness campaign against GHB, nicknamed the “rape drug”, through posters and leaflets distributed in nightclubs for professionals and victims. The Ministry of the Interior now asks the general directorates of the police and the gendarmerie to systematize the samples for toxicology detection for the victims who would be found unconscious and taken to the hospital.
