An investigation has been opened for attempted voluntary homicide after the assault on at least two migrants, Wednesday, December 8 in the morning, on the Parisian camp where they live. “Two Sudanese men were attacked with sabers in Bercy park” and transported to the Parisian hospital of Pitié-Salpêtrière, said Ian Brossat, the deputy mayor of Paris in charge of welcoming refugees.

A man allegedly stabbed two men and degraded six tents in a camp in Bercy Park in the 12th arrondissement, before being injured by victims who tried to disarm him, according to a police source. A person was arrested in this case, added the Paris prosecutor’s office. One of the victims is found “in serious condition”, added a source close to the matter.

“It would be a racist attack”, resumed Ian Brossat, whose teams of assistance to the homeless marauded on the small camp of about twenty tents and reported the facts. The aggressor would have “started tearing up tents and a fight with exiles ensued”, also indicated Kerill Theurillat, a Parisian official of the association Utopia56, which intervenes on this camp where live about fifty people.
