A Russian invasion of Ukraine could “happen at any time,” including before the end of the Beijing Olympics scheduled for Feb. 20, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Friday.
“We continue to see signs of Russian escalation, including the arrival of new forces on the Ukrainian border,” he added to the press.
The United States believes that a Russian invasion of Ukraine would certainly begin with aerial bombardment and could include “a rapid assault” on Kiev.
Mr Sullivan called on Americans in Ukraine to leave the country “within 24 to 48 hours”.
