Disco takes pride of place on Wednesday 15 March. For one day, fans will revive this emblematic music of the 70s.

Wednesday, March 15, we celebrate the disco, the time of a day. In 2021, singer Juliette Armanet was singing The last day of disco, and that day almost happened. The disco was put to death on July 12, 1979, in a stadium in Chicago (United States). During a baseball game, the public brought in their disco records and blew up the vinyl records. That day, disco haters thought they had killed the tempo.

intergenerational music

Forty years have passed since that day, and yet all generations find themselves today in this festive rhythm. Some had thought to make disco disappear, but this music is now the only one that can celebrate its fiftieth anniversary on a day dedicated to it. If the greatest successes are American, France is not to be outdone, with Dalida or Claude François. But the crown of this French disco goes to Marc Cerrone. His fame has traveled the world.
