A 150,000 square meter shopping center
The project plans to increase the shopping center, one of the largest in the Ile-de-France region, from 120,000 square meters to 150,000 square meters and to create a 7-storey office building. For associations (Alternatiba Rosny and MNLE 93) who attacked the four building permits issued by the town hall of Rosny-sous-Bois, the consequences would be significant: “irreversible artificialization of soils, increase in road traffic, deterioration of air quality, phenomenon of urban heat islands”.
Consequences that would have been hidden in the impact study, according to these associations. “Neither does this take into account the combination with other town planning operations in the sector, nor the ERC (Avoid / Reduce / Compensate) measures in terms of atmospheric pollution”, Explain Alternatiba.
Minimized consequences on air quality?
According to her, if the project would lead to an average increase of 13% of vehicles in its vicinity, the study is based on “on an ambitious development of the vehicle fleet leading to an improvement in air quality”. But the measurements indicating the saturation rate of particles in the air returned by certain terminals were ignored “.
