“We have an increase of 17 % of positive results in Covid tests”Hélène Prouvost, epidemiologist at the regional unit of Public Health France, told France Bleu Nord on Thursday, December 7. “What we observe in our monitoring indicators, in particular linked to the carrying out of Covid tests and linked to the use of SOS Médecins, is an increase over the past one or two weeks”figures the epidemiologist.
The incidence rate increased by 17% in one week, details France Bleu Nord. It corresponds to the number of cases per 100,000 people. In one week, it goes from 28/100,000 to 33/100,000. In hospital, hospitalizations for Covid increase by 38% in one week in the region.
Hélène Prouvost therefore recommends being vigilant, “especially with the arrival of the end-of-year holidays”. “What is really important is to get vaccinated and then to put in place barrier gestures, in particular wearing a mask”, concludes the epidemiologist.
