No longer confining disabled workers to adapted companies or to the protected sector of establishments and services for work assistance (Esat), this is an experiment which will begin in three to five voluntary territories from next year, but the journey of people with disabilities looking for work will change.
>> Work: the employment of people with disabilities will improve significantly in 2022
Everything will go through the future France Travail organization, which will replace Pôle emploi. When a person receives recognition of the status of disabled worker (RQTH), from the Departmental House of Disabled Persons, it will automatically be transmitted to France Travail. From then on, the advisers of France Travail will receive the person to determine with her “their project, their needs and the most suitable work environment “qui will not necessarily be the protected sector. Ihe aim is indeed to get people with disabilities hired by ordinary companies instead of directing them straight away towards specific schemes.
“Stop doing specific routes”
The worker will be able to benefit from immersion devices in the various professional environments to find out what suits him best. But, says the Department of Labor: “Everyone is presumed to be able to work in an ordinary environment” and it needs “stop doing specific routes”.
Companies are ready to play the game pFor example, when we look at the unemployment rate for people with disabilities. It is in free fall, going from 19% in 2017 to 13% in 2022. Some sectors have urgent labor needs and they are ready to open up to people with disabilities. This is the case for industries and trades in the metallurgy industry, which has just renewed an agreement for access to industrial employment for people with disabilities. Ditto for the health and social sector associations, also in shortage of manpower, which says it is determined to “exploit all sources of applications”.
