The exhibition is open to everyone: swimmers, visitors who came especially for the occasion, as well as passers-by strolling along the banks of the Seine. “My mother, who was very close to the public, would have been proud to be in the spotlight of such an exhibition” says Brian Bouillon-Baker, son of the artist.
Twelve artists have, especially for the occasion, produced works inspired by the life of Joséphine Baker. Their paintings, street-art paintings, illustrations, video, digital creation or even collages, represent the multiple facets of the one who was a magazine leader, military, resistance and of course adoptive mother of twelve children whom she called her “rainbow tribe”.
Among the exhibiting artists, Carol B., creator of a stamp bearing the image of the star, welcomes the initiative which allows her to share her vision of the idol with an audience that does not necessarily come to the places of culture.
So, swim while contemplating the large fresco painted by the famous urban artist C215 or admire the works without wetting the swimsuit, everyone will choose their way of living this exhibition!
