an Escape Game to make young people aware of the risks of drugs

It is a place that is ultimately quite mysterious which opened to the public this Tuesday, October 4 in Grenoble. During one evening, the courthouse was accessible to all, between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., on the occasion of the “Night of Law.” An event launched in 2017 in Paris, which sets itself the objective each year of presenting professions related to justice through stands and animations.

For example, it was possible to take part in conferences on intra-family violence, to speak with law students about studies leading to the profession of lawyer, or even to attend the reconstruction of a crime scene to observe the work of investigators.

Feeling the ravages of drugs through role play

Upstairs, young people were also able to participate in immersive Escape Games: a role-playing game in which participants must carry out an investigation by solving puzzles. And this is the method chosen by the Comité Dauphinois d’Action Socio-Éducative to make young people aware of the dangers of cannabis.

Report with the young people of Lycée Marie Reynoard Villard-Bonnot who participate in the Escape Game

The scenario is simple. “Theo”, a young high school student, no longer gives any sign of life. The participants find themselves in a room with clues to try to find him. They are supervised by a psychologist who plays Theo’s big brother, and guides them throughout their research. The participants end up discovering that Theo has fallen into drug addiction. But the good news is that he has an appointment with an addiction service to get help. This is obviously the message conveyed by this role-playing game: to inform young people about the existing systems to help them in the event of addiction. After the Escape Game, the high school students were also able to take part in a debate to learn how to react in this kind of situation.
