It will be the great novelty of the summer culture and heritage in Tours. An escape game will take place at the Charlemagne tower, a first in a building in the city classified as a historical monument. The aim is to attract a younger audience and introduce them to the history of Saint-Martin, Philippe Le Bel and Charlemagne through an escape game. The launch is scheduled for July 1 for this partnership with the company “Escape Yourself” over three years, until the summer of 2024.
At the top of this Charlemagne tower, moreover, it will again be possible to have a small aperitif, as in other years. Guided tours with tasting of local products resume from May 21, for the start of Vitiloire. About twenty visits are planned until the end of the summer.
July 14 festivities
The two other notable novelties of the summer season concern visits to the cavities and the Rougemont plateau.near the A10 in Tours-Nord, where an initiation workshop will be offered.
As for the July 14 festivities, they will take place on three sites: the Andy Warhol space in Tours-Nord, Balzac Island in Tours-Sud and the banks of the Loire for the center of the city. On the program: fireworks, balls and banquets, without health restrictions if the Covid-19 leaves us alone by then.
The Unexpected, a festival for 2023
Finally, it’s not for this year but for next year, the Inattendus will become a festival in 2023. It will take place over a week, a priori in September. It will always be around urban arts – dances, graffiti, street performances. The town hall will go through a service provider to organize it with specifications to be respected. It will be published between the end of June and the beginning of July.
