an employee of La Poste strangled, his colleagues “in shock”

The scene shocked the employees of the Saint-Cyr post office in Rennes. This Friday, around 2 p.m., a man attacked a teller. He strangled him, to the point of suffocation, and fled before the police arrived. In a press release, CGT FAPT 35 expressed the amazement of the teams and requested psychological support and “management’s commitment to guarantee their safety”.

Similar acts to Dol-de-Bretagne and Pacé

These incidents are more and more frequent, “in the mail as in offices”, according to the union. Letter carriers are insulted, sometimes attacked, as for example recently at the Dol-de-Bretagne mail center but also in Pacé, near Rennes. Union calls for recruitment “as soon as possible” a security guard, permanently present, to protect the staff of the Rennes Saint-Cyr post office. He also claims the re-establishment of secure banking and mail machines. “La Poste with its reorganizations dictated first and foremost by the imperatives of productivity, knowingly endangers its agents”, writes the CGT in its press release.
