A 37-year-old employee of a sports hall in Orléans (Loiret) was arrested at his workplace on January 10. He is suspected of having filmed several clients while they were taking their showers, France Bleu Orléans reported on Sunday January 23.
The investigation began in December when a first client filed a complaint after seeing a phone slipped under her shower door after a workout. Several other customers then claimed to the investigators that they had come across an employee, who had worked for ten years at the reception of the room, coming out of the showers at the time of the events.
Arrested, this employee admitted the facts in police custody, even if he had erased the videos captured from his phone. The departmental security police, meanwhile, were able to identify five other alleged victims. The man was laid off by his employer and will be tried next May, before the criminal court for “invasion of privacy”.
